Woori Bank Tokyo Branch is a branch of Woori Bank, Seoul, Korea ("Head Office") and is not separately incorporated legal entity. Hanvit bank changed it's brand to Woori on May 20th, 2002 to coincide the name with the bank's holding company. According to the merge of two retail banks, The Commercial Bank of Korea, Ltd. and Hanil Bank, in January 1999, the operation of each bank's Tokyo Branch and Hanil Bank Yokohama Branch were merged effectively on January 4, 1999. Tokyo branch plays an important role in Japan especially with Osaka branch's having been closed in October 2000.
Tokyo branch has continued its business activities for more than 30years supporting financing and mediation of post Japan-Korea trades for Korean-Japanese compatriots, enterprises, and local Korean corporations.

Tokyo branch provides not only ordinary banking services such as deposit, loans, foreign exchange and so on, but also service such as providing preferential deposit interest rates, opening accounts in Korea, and consultations on investments to meet clients' needs.
