Woori America Bank, formerly Hanvit America Bank, was originally formed under the name of Korea Commercial Bank of New York as a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Commercial Bank of Korea in 1984 under laws of New York State. In the year of 1999, the Bank changed its name from Korea Commercial Bank of New York to Hanvit America Bank and changed to Woori America Bank on May 20th, 2002 to coincide the name with the bank's holding company. Since its inception, we have concentrated on providing much needed financial services to the then under-served ethnic Korean Community in the New York metro-politan area including northern New Jersey area. We offer a wide range of personal and commercial banking services combined with the personal touch and convenience of a local community bank, and yet all of the sophisticated resources of a major banking corporation.
